I recently spent the weekend in Sugar Land, TX with my husband. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Houston. If you're looking to escape city life for a few days, allow me to share a little bit of what we did on our trip.

Most of the attractions are just a short drive from Town Square, this is definitely a plus! These are a few of the things we did while we were there, but there’s so much more for you to enjoy and do in Sugar Land.

Sugar Land Town Square - So many options as far as restaurants, and stores. Not to mention all of the events happening in Town Square. We enjoyed watching a movie in the Plaza.

Go Ape Sugar Land ZIpline and Adventure Park

Treetop Adventure at Go Ape Sugar Land at Brazos River Park.

Go Ape Zipline and Adventure Park Sugar Land - Experience the longest zipline near Houston. This adventure park has obstacle courses, rope ladders, Tarzan swings, and multiple ziplines. You’re on your own for this course, but they do go over safety procedures and you have three hours to complete it. We went at 9:00 am to try and avoid some of the Texas heat.

Cullinan Park Conservancy - One of the biggest nature parks in the Houston Area. It has nature trails, an observation tower, and a boardwalk. You can also get a picture with the mural “Birds”. This is located close to the restrooms and parking lot.

Murals in Sugar Land - I enjoyed snapping pictures with the colorful murals located around Sugar Land. One of my favorites is right in Town Square. The “Sugar Rush” Mural that is located in the Lone Star Garage. You must scan the QR code to see the surprise. You can also get a picture with the “Pavement” Mural that has the City Hall in the background.

First Colony Mall - A trip is not complete if you don’t do some shopping. First Colony Mall is just a short drive from Town Square. You’ll have plenty of stores to choose from like Sephora, Lululemon, and Francesca’s just to name a few. After doing some shopping, I got a mangonada from Kokee Tea. You can also get a picture with the “Together” Mural located at The Lawn and the “Sugar Land Space Cowboys” Mural that is located on the back wall of Dimassi’s Mediterranean restaurant. Check out more top photo spots in Sugar Land!

There are multiple options at First Colony Mall to satisfy all of your cravings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can find Asian, Mediterranean, Cajun, and New American food.

Interior dining space at B.B. Italia Bistro and Bar

Italian-American restaurant B.B. Italia Bistro & Bar.

B.B. Italia Bistro & Bar - Is located in Town Square. You can enjoy an Italian-American dinner with amazing service. You must try their Chicken Marsala and Chocolate Cake!

Escalante’s Fine Tex-Mex & Tequila - Their weekend brunch menu is full of flavor, it’s a must! We went for lunch and had the Azteca plate that comes with Chilaquiles and Carne Asada. You can never go wrong with fajitas, these are always a great choice.

State Fare Kitchen & Bar - I love the decor and of course the delicious food here! Such a great lunch option, right in Town Square. I had their Jalapeno Hushpuppies and Fried Green Tomato & Pork Belly BLT with Sweet Potato Fries. Amazing!

Coco Crepes & Coffee - Just a short drive from Town Square, and you’ll be able to visit the neighborhood café.  We grabbed something quick before heading to the Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park. I had a Berry Berry Smoothie and a breakfast croissant.

Morelia Gourmet Paletas - With this Texas heat a gourmet paleta is a must! All of their paletas are made with natural ingredients. We had a mango sorbet and a strawberry sorbet paleta with chamoy and tajin. So good!

Houston Marriott Sugar Land pool

Houston Marriott Sugar Land located in the heart of the Sugar Land Town Square.

Right in the heart of Town Square you will find the Houston Marriott Sugar Land. This hotel is in the perfect location. We spent most of our time in Town Square, but some of the attractions that we went to were less than a fifteen minute drive. This is the only hotel in Sugar Land that offers full service.
