Explore Sugar Land Town Square's shops, restaurants and enjoy their weekend events.

Come with us on a Sweet Escape…to Sugar Land, TX! My husband and I desperately needed a bit of rest and relaxation, so we were so excited to get the opportunity to stay for a couple of nights, thanks to Visit Sugar Land! There’s always something to do, whether you’re a foodie looking for the perfect meal or a music enthusiast who loves live concerts. Here’s the breakdown of what we did and where we stayed:

Where to Stay

Houston Marriott Sugar Land, sits in the center of all of the action in Sugar Land Town Square restaurants, shopping and entertainment are all within walking distance. I loved walking all around the Town Square, experiencing the culture of the city and mingling with the locals. There’s always a friendly face nearby and someone willing to snap a photo or two for the gram! The hardest part of my day was deciding which local restaurant to try- there’s literally something for whatever you’re craving. Here are a few places that we ate at, their specialties and what we recommend!

Restaurants in Sugar Land

Japaneiro’s is a fantastic sushi fusion restaurant, serving Latin and Japanese fare. The tequeños, dumplings and ceviche are musts! The restaurant is lively, yet cozy and the atmosphere is like your neighborhood hangout. The service was fast and attentive and I will definitely be back for more sushi!

Toast served the most delicious breakfast I’ve ever had! The menu is so expansive, there’s everything you could imagine, including omelets, avocado toast, burritos and house-made cro-nuts! I must bring my kids back for the M & M pancakes!

Jupiter Pizza and Waffles serves amazing stone-baked pizza and Belgian waffles, plus craft beer and wine. A sip on the patio in the fall is a must, it’s a great spot to chat with others and make friends.

B.B. Italia Bistro & Bar serves classic Italian dishes and I had the best shrimp scampi. It’s like grandma's Italian kitchen, in a cozy and modern setting! The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauces were light, yet full of flavor.

State Fare is a MUST for a unique and delicious brunch! Southern Favorites like fried green tomatoes, crawfish and creole eggs Benedict and the XXL buttermilk griddlecake are mouthwatering!

If you visit during the month of October, you may get the chance to attend the annual Oktoberfest. We had the best time tasting the various beers, pretzels and German fare! The bratwurst eating contest was a hit and I’ll definitely be back next year!

Things To Do in Sugar Land

Just a short drive away is the Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land, where we checked out one of my favorite artists, Alejandro Sanz. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house, parking was easy and the acoustics make you feel the beat of every note. We sure sang and danced like we were teenagers again! It made for the sweetest ending to our staycation!

I can’t recommend a day trip or weekend getaway in Sugar Land enough- your stomach and soul will leave so happy! Stay sweet, Sugar Land. 🍭
