Mother’s Day at the Park: Tea & Targets

Celebrate Mother’s Day the old-fashioned way! Learn about all the roles of women in the 1800’s, like how to defend their homes with black-powder target practice, the art of cooking using a historic wood-burning stove, and the evolution of fashion at the historic clothing display. Target practice is at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. There will also be a Victorian Luncheon at 12:30 p.m., where attendees can learn about 1890’s Victorian tea etiquette while enjoying a scrumptious full tea (savories and sweets). Cost is $20 for ages 13 and up, and $15 for ages 7 to 12.

Mother’s Day just got sweeter—join us for a fun class of baking with your kids, and we’ll do the dishes. Practice whipping egg whites for melt-in-your-mouth meringues and bake up the ultimate fudgy brownies. Plus, you’ll love making tender, buttery scones drizzled with a lemon glaze. Sweet! Attendees must be 8 and older, and all students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Cost is $49 per person.

During this one-of-a-kind workshop, you will be guided step-by-step through hand knitting a warm, soft chunky knit blanket. No needles or knitting experience is required and all supplies will be provided. Cost is $75 and includes a spot for one child and one adult.

Join us and learn all the essential steps, from mixing batter and baking crisp shells to making raspberry buttercream and chocolate ganache. If you’re not Mom’s favorite now, you will be.
