    This WonderWeek is all about video games. Did you know that the first video games were created in the 1950s. Computer scientists created simple electronic games to test early computer’s capabilities. Simple games like Tic-Tac-Toe were played on these computers. Over five million different video games have been published since the 1970s. Once considered just a hobby, gaming has really become huge in the past 30 years. There are people who make their living playing video games in professional competitions.
     
    During this WonderWeek we have several fun crafts and activities inspired by retro gaming. Game on!

    Design your own video game inspired craft using art supplies!

    Design your own retro wearable sunglasses as we celebrate the start of summer!

    Create your own pixelated work of art using cardstock and paper squares!

    Mario Cart Coding
    Explore basic coding skills and vocabulary. 
    Learning to code is very much like learning a second language and provides many of the same advantages. Explore computer coding when you navigate through coding squares using printed coding directions.
