This 7-hour continuation course will help participants progress further in blacksmithing skills and practice. Topics include forge use and care, heat treating, annealing, quenching, normalization and tempering. Students will make a project to take home. This class is open only to participants who have attended the Traditional Blacksmithing Skills I class or have previous forging experience.
Participants must be age 17 or older and wear cotton or wool clothing (no synthetic materials) and closed-toe shoes. Students also must bring their own eye and ear protection. Costs of materials are included in the cost of the class. All blacksmithing classes are a single 7-hour class with a lunch break. You are welcome to bring your lunch or come and go as you please within your 7-hour class period.
