Spring is right around the corner and what better way to kick off the season than a trip to the “Sweetest City in Texas” for some fun events. This month, we have events ranging from history to culture and coffee to exercise.
International Art & Kite Festival

The Crown Festival Park at Sugar Land
Calling all world travelers! This international event celebrates the diversity of cultures within the community and features dozens of local organizations that showcase unique and vibrant heritages from all around the world. Attendees are sure to enjoy a variety of visual and performing art forms including cultural stage performances, kite flying, hands-on art activities, demonstrations, live paintings and art competitions. There will also be an inflatable activity fun zone, face painting and Henna tattoos, an international fashion show, roaming character photo opportunities, and art cars. Women’s History Month Blacksmithing Sampler Class

Looking to get your feet wet with some basic blacksmithing skills? This introductory class is geared toward beginners and is a shorter take on the 7-hour class. You will cover fire-building and maintenance, shop safety, tools, equipment and hammer control. Students will get hands-on experience while working on a small project they will be able to take home.
Participants must be age 17 or older and wear cotton or wool clothing (no synthetic materials) and closed-toe shoes. Students also must bring their own eye and ear protection. Costs of materials are included in the cost of the class. Space is limited so be sure to sign up early.

BlendIn Coffee Club is located in a bright, modern setting for house-roasted single-origin coffee beans from around the world brewed in a variety of ways. They also host a variety of events including cupping sessions, latte art training, and more.
The Q Processing Level 1 (Generalist) course is a 2-day event consisting of lectures and comparative cupping exercises. The course provides a scientifically informed body of general knowledge about coffee processing techniques, and addresses subjects such as the history of processing, coffee plant anatomy, processing methods, fermentation, drying, and future challenges. A written exam will be administered to measure competencies in the subject matter and a passing score will result in a Q Processing Generalist Certificate.
