Grab every piece of green clothing you have and head over to the “Sweetest City in Texas.” We’ve created a list of things to do and the best places to grab a pint of Guinness this St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
St. Patrick’s Day is all about having a good time with friends. Start the weekend off right with some laughs at the Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land with Tyler Perry’s “Madea’s Farewell Play Tour.” Tyler Perry shocked fans when he announced that he would be ending the near 20-year run of his most beloved character, Mabel “Madea” Simmons, the mouthy, grey-haired senior citizen who started it all. Don’t miss out on what is sure to be a great time and be sure to get your tickets here!
Put on your running shoes for the Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Half Marathon, a 13.1-mile loop starting and ending at Sugar Land Town Square. Get into the spirit with your “most Irish” outfit to take part in the annual costume contest, and bring family and friends along for some sweet entertainment with bagpipes and more! Find all the details, including how to register, here.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an Irish-inspired feast. You’ll get to jazz up soda bread with Irish cheddar cheese and slather corned beef with a tangy-sweet glaze. There will be plenty of hands-on practice braising cabbage, mashing potatoes and baking a bittersweet chocolate cake infused with Irish whiskey. Check out the full menu here and be sure to sign up while you’re there!
Several Sugar Land bars and lounges will be hosting St. Patrick’s Day celebrations throughout the city with drink specials on Guinness, ales, stouts, Irish whiskey, and more! Check out our blog on Sugar Land’s Sweet Night Life for ideas on where to celebrate this St. Patty’s Day.
