The City of Sugar Land’s Office of Economic Development is committed to working with its businesses as we all work through the COVID-19 pandemic together. This page will be updated regularly with information and resources for businesses throughout the City as they become available.  


As of Friday, April 3, 2020, businesses may apply for the Paycheck Protection Program loans/grants. Please see the program website, a fact sheet about the PPP,  and a database of SBA approved banks. Allocated funds for the program will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to apply as soon as you are able.

 

Take the COVID-19 Business Survey 


City leadership is aware of the challenges facing local businesses during this time and is working on different options to provide assistance.

To that end, all Sugar Land businesses are encouraged to complete the city’s COVID-19 Business Survey to help community leaders better understand the impacts that current circumstances have had on business revenue, staffing, and other resources. Click on the button below to take the survey!

Visit Sugar Land Convention and Visitor Services  

In light of this decision the Visit Sugar Land Convention and Visitor Services (VSL) has taken the action to cross-promote all of your offerings available to the community from take-out to all other delivery services. It has become our objective to support all local businesses by continuously monitoring their social media channels to share collected updates on our platforms.  

We encourage you to update your social platforms regularly and tag us @VisitSugarLand if you’re offering curbside, gift card sales, take-out, or any kid-friendly kits to keep children entertained during this pandemic.   

Facebook Small Business Grants Program

Facebook is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits for up to 30,000 eligible small businesses. To learn more about the grant application deadlines, please visit the Facebook Boost Grant website
