National Travel & Tourism Week 2019 in Sugar Land

Join Visit Sugar Land on May 5-11, 2019 as we celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week! This year's theme is "Travel Matters." Our ultimate goal each year in observing National Travel and Tourism Week is to increase Sugar Land’s visitors’ and residents knowledge of what our city has to offer.

Additionally, it is a time when travel and tourism professionals across the country unite to celebrate the value travel holds for our economy, businesses, and personal well-being. Visit Sugar Land is partnering up with various attractions to host a weeklong celebration culminating in a rally honoring our industry and employees.

Here's what we have planned for you during the week:

Matter Matters at Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land!

May 9-10

I matter, you matter, everything matters. Matter is the stuff around you that has mass and takes up space, literally everything solid, liquid and gas. Visit Sugar Land is celebrating National Travel and Tourism week May 5-11, and happily, their theme is “Travel Matters".  Research suggests that at HMNS at Sugar Land, science matters and is fun, too!

Come experiment with us May 9–11, and learn about matter during our “Travel Matters” celebration. Our moms definitely matter this week, so don’t miss the Saturday event where you can make a special gift for Mother’s Day for $5.  We guarantee you’ll have great chemistry (and physics)!

  • Thursday, May 9, 10 am – Baker Hughes Live Chemistry Demonstration
  • Saturday, May 11, 11 am to 1 pm – Special Mother’s Day Gift Making
