Dia de los Muertos San Isidro Exhibit

 

SAN ISIDRO CEMETERY CENTENNIAL │ DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS EXHIBIT

There's a celebration right around the corner and you're invited! This year marks the centennial of San Isidro Cemetery, located on the north bank of Oyster Creek in present-day Sugar Creek subdivision in Sugar Land, Texas. The Sugar Land Heritage Museum is celebrating with a Día de los Muertos exhibit at the Sugar Land Heritage Museum and Visitor Center. From October 22 to November 3 we invite you to learn about the significance of All Saints Day in Hispanic cultures across North and Central America. Let yourself wander in the museum and admire personalized altars created by local families honoring their loved ones and lives in Old Sugar Land.

Umbria Film Festival

Umbria in Sugar Land Italian Film Festival is coming to the Sweetest City in Texas for the second year in a row from October 26 - 28, 2018. In 2017, Umbria in Sugar Land was created for the citizens of Sugar Land and the surrounding region to enjoy a cultural film experience, promote art, Italian culture, tourism, and economic development. This year, foreign film fans will be able to enjoy five, world-class films and sample aperitivos showcasing the beers, wines, and cheeses from Italy's Umbria region.

SUGAR LAND AUDITORIUM CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

The Sugar Cultural Arts Foundation is hosting the 100-year anniversary of the Sugar Land Auditorium.

The Sugar Land Auditorium will be the venue for a day of fun activities and free performances. Attendees will be entertained through a variety of musical acts, talks, demonstrations, and participatory activities that will educate the public about the history of the auditorium, the history of Sugar Land, and the history of America in 1918. There will also be food, refreshments, and an Ice Cream Social with celebrity scoopers!

It’s that time of the year again – The 7th annual Flying Saucer BeerFeast is back and happening on Saturday, October 27 from 2-6:30 p.m. at the Sugar Land Town Square.  Yup, that’s right and you’re invited to join this outdoor beer-sampling event and festival that will feature over 100 quality craft beers from around the globe. Plus, there will be food vendors and live music to liven up the event.  General admission and VIP tickets are available for purchase.
